Game Telemetry in Assassin’s Creed is beautiful

My friend Johnny wrote another lengthy article on the Engine Room that will interest you only if you are curious about game development (sorry Johnny).
The reason I’m posting this here is that he uses the example of Assassin’s Creed Revelations AND since he’s a cool guy he also included wallpapers made with these tools. And you don’t need to be a geek to find a “heat map” of Constantinople beautiful.

But if you are a geek, the heat maps present a certain je-ne-sais-quoi that adds volumes to their beauty ;)

mmm mmmm… delightfully beautiful. looks a little like what one can see from a plane when flying over a brightly lit city at night.

I haven’t played the game yet, but it’s going to happen real soon. So seeing the map for the first, in it’s entirety, is pretty intimidating. Although I’m really looking forward to multiple cities in one game again.

I would be very thankful if you could provide these wallpapers in a larger size. My desktop is 1920x1080px, and this is like a quarter of it.

I agree with @longbowassassin557 .these telemetry images would be stunning on a tee shirt, or notebook cover perhaps?…
I still find it amazing that Ubisoft use these images/information to enhance the gameplay of subsequent games in the series…making it better by tracking where players go/spend the most time travelling/doing missions ensuring that the new games will be just as well travelled so to speak ^_^
….Very cool
