    Hey guys,

    I’m trying to change my avatar and it says that i need to make an account on Gravatar. I did but i still dont understand what the point of that was. Any ideas?

    huh, i checked mine, and it also says i should create a gravatar acount. I think they have changed their system

    strange back then we were able to decide bewteen using a gravatar icon or upload and crop one

    Actually, I think that’s a feature that was deployed in BuddyPress 2.0, which we use. It’s standard to tie WordPress (which this is) to Gravatars since they’re owned and operated by the same company and support for it comes out of the box. I’m sure that’ll be fixed/improved eventually.

    Well, having a gravatar account is sort of convenient, imo. With websites that use it, you automatically have a universal avatar when you use your verified email. Be aware that it does take a while to update though. You’re not going to see an instant change, in my experience.
