check out what this guy has to say…

maybe he’ll change his opinion once he sees “the other side of killing” in ac3… (6)

Hm, the only trailer I watched so far was the teaser trailer so I can’t confirm if Connor killed any colonists in the subsequent trailers. But it makes sense that he will have targets from all sides… in fact I wouldn’t be surprised if he was forced to kill some of his own tribesmen. One of the screenshots seemingly shows Connor attempting to assassinate Washington (who seems to be holding a PoE). But that’s only one picture showing a single potential target (that I can remember) and I guess some people might not consider him a colonist given his history?

Who knows? Maybe the marketing is biased. Or maybe their intention is to lead us to believe that Connor is/was an fanatical idealist before he has an epiphany. They possibly want us to uncover the conspiracy while playing the game and are hoping that most fans won’t be expecting enemies from all sides? If they did show Connor killing colonists I would be able to handle it because it would make sense. But I guess we should just wait and find out the story.

maybe it is, maybe it isn’t. until we see more gameplay footage, his argument stands. personally, i’d like to see in the game how much templar influence has spread to not just one side but to all groups/factions involved whether they are the revolutionaries, the loyalists, the natives, the other involved nationalities…

the person who wrote the article has a point, though it’s not that sharp of a point.

Yep, it isn’t reassuring when they only show redcoats getting sent to their graves by Connor. Whether or not they were trying to placate Americans, the marketing appears biased (ex: two their taglines is “Fight like an American.” and “Join the Revolution.”) Kind of like when they announce the CEs for EMEA but not for NA. A lot of fans started assuming that there would be no CE or receive one that is inferior. Ubisoft should try to show everyone what they need/want to see (instead, from what I heard, they just show Connor owning a bear). But at the same time I understand that it can be hard to please everyone without messing up your own plans (assuming they’re trying to keep us wondering instead of showing all the cards up their sleeve).

I’m sure when the games launches we probably won’t even remember these things because it’s going to be great!

They can only reveal so much in trailers before they spoil the plot of the game…. and we are still 4 months away from the release date so they’ll tease us with little bits for bit yet. They should be releasing a larger/more informative trailer(s) closer to the release so its possible that they’re just keeping the “non-british” kills for that.

However I think you’re all forgetting one little tease they gave us involving a “blue coat” that Connor clearly will have no love for.

I’ve seen that pic before but don’t know much about it. Is it from the E3 demo (haven’t seen it)? I’m guessing that’s a bluecoat bullying/assaulting a native? Is that Connor’s friend/wife/gf? Is this bluecoat handling her like a rug because he’s evil? Or is he interrogating a spy/traitor or an enemy? Maybe that’s his wife and he caught her doing something?

Sorry I’m sounding like a fool but it appears to be many things. Hopefully someone else can provide some insight. :P

i beleive that that is chales lee, though i may be msitaken. and yes, he does appear to be a bluecoat. but the point of the article is the “killing” bit.

yes, that’s what matters regardless of which side the victims are: it’s the kill! kill! KILL! (6)

Actually I might’ve mistook  that native for a woman.  Looks like a boy. :-$–

But about the bluecoat in question, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was one of Connor’s targets. Manhandling kids is unacceptable.

@v1sav1s I think its supposed to be Connor as a child – his tribe get attacked or somethiing and that is what provokes him to become an assassin. And I do believe Charles Lee is a future target (and a most hated one for Connor). Its part of the reason why Connor insists on staying out of the Revolution (he’s not fighting for any side, simply working with them at times to get his target – as seen in the E3 demo)

@looneytexan you know I thought the same thing…. haha.

That is Connor as a child and the man (bluecoat/Patriot) is Charles Lee. They call it an ‘antagonistic relationship’, so Lee may or may not become a mentor of Connor’s or something.  It’s from the April issue of Game Informer.  (I have the July issue with AC LIberation article, if anyone’s still interested in what’s in it, though not much more than what they’ve already shared.)

@mysticheero he looks like an extra from the movie Planet of  the Apes. makes me wonder if he was that hairy in real life. medical problems maybe? did he have problems managing his antagonistic entangle of a mane?

i think too much. need to stop wasting brain cells on such trivial stuff.  :-D

@looneytexan  Kind of, sort of- He was known for his ‘slovenly appearance’. “Charles Lee was pompous, arrogant, somewhat ugly (yes, this is recorded by  history), spiteful of everyone who was not a soldier or a prostitute, unclean,  odorous, vain, etc…”
    http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/continental/chaslee.html

He was also courtmartialed and some considered him a traitor.  AND he married the daughter of a Mohawk chief (possibly in Connor’s tribe, in the game, hmm?)

judging by the picture in the article, i think he looks way way better in the game  :P

vain, did you say? glad he’s not desmond’s ancestor. i can’t imagine a game when i get prompted with a new side mission when i pass by a hair salon “Charles’ hair gets unruly after a romp in the hay wagon. put on as many hair curlers on the head before the clock runs out. exciting weapon to be unlocked!” and you get a revolutionary era metal hair curler as an alternative to the tomahawk.
