the last paragraph in that article is something i disagree with, though. ac single-player ftw!

Assassin’s creed’s main selling point is and always has been its single player
When a new assassins creed is announced people don’t say
“oh I wonder what new game modes there will be?”
    People say
“oh I wonder what’s going to happen to Desmond and the modern day assassins
Okay as someone who has many a prestige star I have spent time training with Abstergo but I have speant more hours than I can count enthraled in the single players riveting campaign

believe it or not, i know some folks who play acb & acr only for the mp. but that’s their choice.

so, you agree longer is better?

hmm… that didn’t come out right. SP gameplay, i mean.

I wonder if fans who prefer single player are slowly becoming the minority? I mean… it just seems like this franchise is focusing as much effort on mp as they do with sp. Normally that isn’t bad if the game is suitable for an all-around experience but I think we can agree that AC has always been about following one ancestor and basking in serene enviroments by ourselves. It’s too bad that mp oriented games make more money nowadays.

I haven’t heard how long AC3′ll be but I hope it takes at least 30 hours for a veteran player to complete. And none of that 100%-sync-restart-a-dozen-times nonsense, and hopefully not too many renovations either…

I play both – it is the main campaign that I buy the games for though. But having said that I understand what Alex is getting to there – if a game is too long then it risks over stretching the story and losing the interest of the player. To keep it fast paced and interesting they usually have to sacrifice a bit of length. The multiplayer has the better potential for long running game play as its more open and there isn’t really much of a story that you play along (other then a templar agent moving through the ranks) so I can understand putting more focus on its updates and things.

Besides we already know they’ve put a massive effort into the single player section in terms of story and actions etc so I’m not worried about that disappointing me yet.

I play AC singleplayer way more than MP, only tried MP a few times but not really into it

I also prefer long singleplayer stories :3

Of all the MP PVP games I have played AC’s is pretty good but I purchase it for the SP storyline which has kept me captivated.

Though the addition of PVP has made it entertaining to challenge friends to matches, I look forward to both aspects of MP and SP when AC3 comes out

Only reason I play mp is because once I beat the single player I don’t feel like wondering around doing nothing… Once you get 100% synch all you can do is replay or kill guards. So I hope AC3 has some more things to do once you finish the campaign.

@koreandemon Try playing it more than once, maybe that’ll help. Other games can wait. :P

Something I forgotto mention last time: not sure how popular lvling recruits are but I find that it really detracts from the game. I feel like I’m a kid again playing pokemon.

@v1sav1s I enjoyed leveling recruits myself! Moreso in brotherhood however. I actually think I preferred brotherhood to revelations vastly.
And Pokemon was awesome for kids :p

i hope this game is super long. for me the mp can wait. plus i like to do all side mission along with the main missions. i take my sweet ass time to beat the game. i cant just try to pass everything fast just to know how is gona end .. and i think the 100 % is good, for those hardcore fans of the franchise …
