Great news for comic fans!
We gave IGN exclusive backstage access to our upcoming comic, Assassin’s Creed: The Chain. The renowned Cameron Stewart and Karl Kerschl, who wrote and drew the comic from front to back, told them everything about their inspiration, the creative process, and what readers should expect from The Chain!
Check out the interview and, of course, the first preview here to find out what’s in store for Nikolaï and Daniel. We can’t wait to hear your first impressions!
The Chain is available for pre-order from our store and is expected to ship late summer 2012.

The comics are as captivating as the games. Great illustrations, story, dialogue, and intricate details will ultimately bring them together at the end of the long road. Can’t wait to be there when it happens.

some people took the subtitle of the fall as the fall of the last russian tsar. turned out it had a second meaning pointing towards the fall of the assassins (though not completely). very few saw that bit coming.
the chain… the chain… what could it mean?
a link… to the past? too obvious
a link… to desmond? possible.
to bind… the remnants of the assassins?
to bind… further the templars in the form of abstergo?
hmmm…

The chain that binds/bound Daniel?
Or maybe some kind of chain link that covers the entire world? I’m thinking of Tesla and his attempt to introduce a worldwide system. Maybe the Templars copy that tech but use it control?
Maybe it’s referring to tectonic plates, or mountain ranges, volcanic chains?
LooneyTexan said on July 13, 2012
maybe a chain reaction of some sort.
pedgz said on July 15, 2012
the tesla could be a possibility. i’d like to see more of the guy in the ac universe…

Maybe an umbilical cord. Wasn’t subject 15 pregnant?
Maybe… That’s Hannah! Ok that’s probabaly not it…
pedgz said on July 15, 2012
i’d call that the mother of all wild guesses, v1s…
although, i don’t mind seeing hannah again. not pregnant, though…

Maybe they’re referring to the curse of the chain necklace?!!? Nikolai will eventually hang the shard with a chain (think lotr) and anyone who wears it will be strangled to death with it. The shard probably has a personality/mind just like the AoE in project legacy and is able to manipulate the chain necklace (think juno forcing desmond to kill lucy).

i’d like to know more about that staff shard nikolai found and how it turns up in modern times…
Al said on July 15, 2012
Yep there was something wonky about the shard. All the Assassins (Bellamy, Hannah, Mentor, etc) were going nuts when they realized Daniel might know more about it. Can’t wait to see what Nikolai does with it and if Abstergo already found it and implanted it in Daniel’s skull.

Long shots again:
1. Prometheus chained to a rock, his viscera consumed by an eagle for all eternity for bringing fire to men
2. Andromeda chained to a rock for offending the gods (aka twcb)
